Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a pop/country singer-songwriter for more than 20 years. Her tales about romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love have earned her wide acclaim during the 21st Century. Swift started to exhibit an desire to work in the industry from a very young age. Her career progressed rapidly starting with children's roles to her first public appearance in front of a large crowd. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game when she was 11 she had already begun writing songs. Following that year she picked up the guitar. Swift created original music which was influenced by country performers such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material reflects her experience of being a tween. Swift's family relocated across the state of Tennessee to Pennsylvania at the age of thirteen, so she could have longer pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
